Simiane la Rotonde

Situated at an altitude of 650 metres, between Lure, Ventoux and Luberon, Simiane-la-Rotonde is one of the loveliest hilltop villages in Haute Provence.
Transported into 18th. C surroundings you will find in its narrow, cobblestoned streets :

  • The old doors of 17th. and 18th. C houses,
  • La Rotonde : this strange tower, part of the 12th. C castle, was built by Louis d'Agoult, Count of Sault
  • The 16th. C church of Sainte-Victoire, the Romanesque bell tower of the former church of Saint-Jean at the heart of the old village,
  • The covered market place,
  • The house of the novelist Ponson du Terrail, the creator of "Rocambole",
  • The chapel of Notre-Dame de Pitié on the hill 200 m above the Rotonde,



    The international  festival of baroque music in August.
